Ghost sign on Deanery Way
A ghost sign on the end of a building on Deanery Way (late Union Road) may be an advert for William Adamson who was a tailor & Draper and who was a resident of 28 Great Underbank in 1872. The building is now occupied by the Yorkshire Building Society and a nail bar.

White Lion
There has been a pub on the site of the White Lion since the 14th century. The present Grade II listed building was erected in 1904 displays a hearty blend of late medieval and Baroque features in a typically exuberant Edwardian fashion. Alas, it has been closed for more than a year.

The White Lion
There has been a pub on the site of the White Lion since the 14th century. The present Grade II listed building was erected in 1904 and displays a hearty blend of late medieval and Baroque features in a typically exuberant Edwardian fashion. It has been shut for several years. Workers appear to have been inside doing some maintenance work and the building is currently being offered for sale.
