Punctilious punctuation (on St. John's School date stone)
Date stone for St. John's School, Hatton Street (see photo Image). Today we are rather careless about punctuation, but this example from 1869 goes to the other extreme. The most common function of a full stop is to indicate the end of a sentence;
'St. John's School' and the date '1869' are not sentences, so really do not need them.
Full marks for effort though!

Former St. John's School and Methodist Chapel

Crown-green bowling greens South Park Macclesfield
Very much out of season now. These two greens along with the country's largest one in West Park and others at Victoria Park and Bollington are used by a number of bowling clubs for competitions as well as individuals for personal matches.
