Bridge No 46 across the Macclesfield Canal carries a public footpath between Gawend Lane (off to the right) with Turf Lane off to the left. It was probably originally a farm accommodation Bridge.

WWII Cheshire: Lyme Green pillbox, Macclesfield Canal (1)

Pillbox (type FW3/24): DoB ID: S0000226
Further south along the Macclesfield Canal is a type 24 pillbox that appears to have been sited to fire mainly east towards the canal bridge. The bridge parapet is just visible in the photo.

Vandalism or art?
I think that the boring switchbox is improved by a good quality painting like this (even if the subject matter isn't to everyone's taste), but the graffiti on the right hand one is just that.
