Royal Oak Swing Bridge
This is the southernmost of two boater-worked swing bridges on this stretch of the Macclesfield Canal. Unlike the bridge at Broadhurst, however, this one is crossed by a busy road and is protected by barriers; a boat passing through can cause quite a build up of traffic (although a footbridge is provided for pedestrians). The operation is electric, requiring the boater to operate a small panel for which instructions are provided.
