Orwell: footpath to Wimpole or Whaddon
This path begins at the end of Leaden Hill on the south-eastern edge of the village. Neat printed notices on the gatepost ask dog-owners to leave no mess and advise that "Dog theives [sic] operate in this area".

Fairhaven Trophy, Orwell, 2007
The Cambridgeshire Village of the Year competition awards environmental and community achievement. The winner gets to display this trophy for a year. From 2007 there is also a cash prize. Orwell won in 2006 and the trophy was displayed outside Orwell Tennis Club.
