The Cock, Baldock High Street
A Greene King house - and in May 2013 still very much a pub in the traditional sense, rather than a restaurant. I've been here in winter, too - they had an open fire and mild on tap. (Mild is getting scarce, so I hope the landlord still keeps it, for the winter months).

Front doorway in the High Street, Baldock
The building is part of a terrace of Georgian houses, probably dating from about 1800. The ogee (double curve) decoration in the 'fanlight' is a Gothick touch. These houses are now fitted with shop-fronts of a later date; it would be interesting to know whether they replaced original features.
