Letchworth City Bowls Club
This is one of the two greens marked on the map at this location and this is the better looking. There is another bowls club in town. I know nothing of the rivalry but it probably gets close to the rivalry between City and United.

Exhibition cottage, Cross Street, Letchworth Garden City
In 1905 Letchworth Garden City was the venue of the Cheap Cottages Exhibition, the aim of which to design and build a cottage for under £150. 131 residences were built, the vast majority of which are still standing. The image shows a single-storey cottage in Cross Street - the history of the building is recorded at this http://www.exhibitioncottages.info/CottageHistories.html. The exhibition was a phenomenal success, so much so that the exercise was repeated in 1907.

The Settlement
The Settlement was originally a milk bar as Letchworth had no pubs, this being contrary to the town's Quaker traditions. Indeed there were no pubs here until 1973. The Wilbury Hotel on the edge of the town was the destination of many on a night out. The Settlement is now home to community groups, education and drama.

Letchworth's only Street.
Indeed, Cross Street is the only road in Letchworth with the address "Street". There are plenty of Avenues, Closes and Roads, but only one Street.

The good people of Letchworth Garden City are so God fearing that this church has now been outgrown and has moved up the road.
