The nave of the church was built in the 11C to 12C, according to the listing details, and the tower added in the 15C.

St. Nicholas: the parish church of Norton
This church dates back to the Norman period and there is evidence of this still remaining in the nave. The church was enlarged and lengthened in the 15th century when the tower was also added. The chancel was entirely rebuilt in 1814.
