The rear aspect of the almshouses, Hitchin
The 1699 front onto Banroft has been preserved (seeImage), but the rear has seen the addition of a modern extension. Washing lines are still in place.

The entrance to the Skynner Almshouses, Bancroft, Hitchin
These were founded by John Skynner in 1666. The two ranges were built in 1670 and 1698. Surprisingly they are not listed.
