There's a path along the bank of the River Hiz under the railway here, but Network Rail wish it to be known that it's not intended to be a public right of way.

Bridge piers on the Hiz
There used to be a branch line here serving the Greystone Lime Works on Cadwell Lane. It lasted at least until the 1960s, but now only these bridge piers remain.

River Hiz railway bridge
This bridge over the River Hiz is actually more like three bridges. There's what looks like a lower, older one with a wider, taller one built over the top, presumably to allow the East Coast Main Line to be widened. Just visible behind the lower arch in this picture is an even lower one which I suspect was built to carry the branch line to Bedford. In the future it will carry the new Down Cambridge line up to its flyover.
