Old Warden - The Hare & Hounds
Old Warden is a charming little village in Bedfordshire. It contains a number of thatched cottages with "eyebrow" windows all of a similar style as they were built as part of the Shuttleworth estate, now Shuttleworth College (see Image] & Image])
The village had an earlier connection to Warden (or Wardon) Abbey from which the village gets its name (see Image])
The village's pub is The Hare & Hounds seen in this image which I can recommend for its food, drink and location - which is particularly handy if you are visiting the nearby Shuttleworth Collection. (see Image] et al)
The pub is EH Grade II listed http://list.historicengland.org.uk/resultsingle.aspx?uid=1222490&searchtype=mapsearch as are almost all the houses and cottages in the village.
