Biggleswade: Former Biggleswade Academy for Boys
Recognisable as an old school by the stone inscription at first floor level, ESTABLISHMENT FOR YOUNG GENTLEMEN this is the former Biggleswade Academy for Boys founded by John Conquest in 1834. It is on the east side of the old A1 road through Biggleswade called Shortmead Street. It is now part of the Elphick Court flats.
