Telephone Exchange
This is the Telephone Exchange building located in Bedwell in Stevenage on Exchange Road just off Bedwell Crescent, the building was built in 1975 which replaced the original Telephone Exchange being a small house sized building which was demolished to make way for a 100ft tall structure, the building is a brutalist design with the colour of the block being brown all around, you can see the Telephone Exchange from all over Bedwell and Stevenage Town Centre.
The Telephone Exchange is partly still in operation as the occupant is now owned by BT Openreach, the building had three operational blocks, one block was converted into flats which is located on Exchange Road and next to Bedwell Shops which used to have a bridge connecting the block and main block across Exchange Road which was demolished when the smaller block was converted into flats, another small block which faces Bedwell Crescent now remains derelict and boarded up and the main 100ft block remains in use today.

Telephone Exchange Stevenage
Located on Exchange Road in the Bedwell Ward of Stevenage.
Built in 1975 for British Telecom (BT) and is still partly used as of 2024.
The majority of the building is derelict and rumours going around the local area for the building to be demolished for new housing, however asking BT myself this has not been confirmed.
