St John?s Church, Waterloo
The church of St John's was built in 1824 to celebrate the victory in the Napoleonic wars. In 1940, the church was firebombed, destroying much of the interior. A restored St John's Waterloo reopened in 1951 to serve as the parish church of the Festival of Britain. Recently, it has again been restored. The church is dedicated to St John the Evangelist http://www.stjohnswaterloo.co.uk/
