Harding & Sons, Tabard Street, Southwark
This fascinating building is on the north side of Tabard Street opposite Silvester Street. The inscriptions on the facade read "Harding & Sons - hardware merchants - tinplate workers - japanners". Apparently their works was on the north side of Long Lane but had been demolished by 1992 - see www.buildingsoflondon.co.uk/bermondseyleaflet.pdf. Japanning was a form of lacquerware - see http://www.localhistory.scit.wlv.ac.uk/Museum/metalware/japtech.htm

Two men in a cradle
Spotted while I was sitting in a park eating my lunch, these two workmen were being moved around the outside of the Empire Square tower - presumably for window cleaning or some other form of maintenance. See Image for context.

Vaguely retro-high-tech looking office building, as if inhabited by computers more than people.
