Former Leather Market, Weston Street
There used to be a big leather industry in Bermondsey - the old leather exchange is next door (Image]) - and so related buildings were afforded quite a high status. This imposing late-Georgian building, built in 1833 of stock brick, has a centrepiece of giant pilasters and a heavy cornice. Grade II listed. It is now small business units.

Valentine's - love for sale?
The pub most recently known as Valentine's closed in 2007 and at the time of the photograph in June 2008 had signs saying "site sold for development". It looked like it would soon be no more. But the recession stopped any development of the site and it was not demolished until the end of 2012 Image

The former Leathermarket
The Leathermarket was a leather market from about the 1830s. The entrance is dated 1878 and the building has impressive roundel reliefs depicting various stages in leather production. The water for the leather works came from the Thames and also the now-hidden River Neckinger which ran into the Thames at what is now St Saviour Dock.
