Leathermarket Gardens, Bermondsey
The name of Leathermarket Gardens comes from the historic leather markets and tanneries nearby. The park was laid out in the 1930s. It is a popular sitting out area for local workers.

Former Leather Hide and Wool Exchange, Weston Street
There used to be a big leather industry in Bermondsey - the old market is next door (Image]) - and so related buildings were afforded quite a high status. This is a lively brick and stone Victorian effort by George Elkington & Sons in 1878. Many of the carvings depict leather-related activities. Grade II listed. It is now a pub and restaurant.
