Construction of the Shard
Building work is now well advanced on The Shard. When the tower is completed in 2012, it will be the tallest building in the European Union, standing 310m (1,017 ft) tall. Already it has reached more than 800 feet high and is a prominent feature of the London skyline. The tower is situated in Southwark and it is viewed here from near City Hall.
