There used to be a church on this site (St Michael & All Angels). It was built in 1886, declared redundant in 1953 and converted in 1956 to be the church hall of the parish of St George the Martyr. From 1993 to 2002 it was used as a Diocesan training centre. It was demolished in 2004 and the site sold on 1 February 2005 for the construction of offices and flats. As of 2010 the office sections appeared to be vacant and the flats were being offered for £550,000 upwards.
