The present St Alphege church
The previous St Alphege church on Lancaster Street was declared redundant in 1983 and since then the congregation has met in the former church hall in King's Bench Street.

Nelson Square
Few of the original houses in this square survive: the rest (including the poet Shelley's former house) have been demolished. There are now medium-rise social housing blocks around three sides, and a small garden and children's playground in the centre.
