Roch Castle
Roch Castle dates from around 1200 when it was built by Adam de Rupe or de la Roche. The present castle has been dated by G.T. Clark to circa 1270. It was garrisoned for the royal cause during the Civil War and beseiged in 1644. The castle was restored from 1901-4 for Sir J. Wynford Philipps of Picton, later Viscount St Davids, to the designs of D.E. Thomas of Haverfordwest. A few years ago the castle was converted into a luxury hotel. On the day this picture was taken it was open on a promotional open day.
