St Thomas Green
This was once the busiest part of the town with markets and fairs taking place in the centre where cars are now parked. It is surrounded by buildings of various ages, including some C18 cottages. Straight ahead, looking northeast is the tower of St Thomas church, and to the left the facade of Albany Chapel dating from the C17. The commercial focus of the town has moved down to the riverside leaving this area mainly residential.
