Newton Road, Mumbles
The B4593 out of Oystermouth. On the corner of Castle Avenue is the Ostreme Community Centre. In 1978 Ostreme Community Association obtained a 35 year lease from All Saints' Church, Oystermouth to refurbish their derelict church hall and run it as a community centre. In 1980 after major work, Ostreme Centre opened to the public as an independent community hall managed by volunteers. http://www.ostremecentre.co.uk/about-us/

Oystermouth
The town has two main shopping streets - the coastal road (Mumbles Road) and this one (Newton Road) which runs uphill at a right angle from the bay. The houses are now street level shops with flats above.

Coffee shop and restaurant occupying the ground floor of the Mumbles telephone exchange building at 34-36 Newton Road. The entrance to the telephone exchange is on the Castle Crescent side of the building, out of shot.

Ostreme Centre, Mumbles
Located on Newton Road. 1978 Ostreme Community Association obtained a 35 year lease from All Saints Church Oystermouth to refurbish their derelict church hall and run it as a community centre. In 1980, Ostreme Centre opened to the public as an independent community hall managed by volunteers who currently meet monthly. The centre does not receive any money from the local authority. All costs are funded from the hire of the 3 rooms (main hall, minor hall and an art & craft room with kiln), membership and fund raising events.
