A symmetrical design, one house presumably bigger than the other. I was attracted by the drip moulds over the windows and doors.

A second building in the village was used as another strongpoint in a cobblers shop that covered a road block on the bridge over Nant Gochen, and the main road. There were two embrasures in the west wall (now just one), and another in the north wall.

The embrasure in the west wall that covered the road block on the bridge. The roadblock was probably in the form of a steel cable stretched across the road, one end of it attached to a pair of rails embedded in the wall of the cottage.

Two rails project from the north-west elevation of the former cobblers shop that would have secured a roadblock on the bridge over Nant Gochen. This may have been in the form of a steel hawser stretched across the road.
