Windows, Brangwyn Hall
Unbelievably created in 2009 but fitting so well in this 1934 building. The colour palette matches the impressive British Empire Panels, originally destined for the House of Lords, which line the walls of the auditorium of the hall.

Swansea Guildhall and Flagpole
The Guildhall is the headquarters of the City and County of Swansea Council and its tower is modelled on a Viking longship to honour Swansea's Norse origins. The flagpole sports a Ukrainian flag to show support for the country following the recent Russian invasion.

The council chamber in Swansea Guildhall
This chamber is extensively covered in exotic hardwood and has a tapestry running all around it below the ceiling.
For example, the supporting steel & concrete pillars are clad in scalloped shells of walnut. The shells are made from two single pieces each spanning the entire height of the column and carved from a whole tree.
The chamber is now too precious to be used for everyday meetings and is only used for special occasions.

The Fourth UK Mega Geocaching Event
The Brangwyn Hall was full for most of the morning and afternoon, hosting the Fourth UK Mega Geocaching Event - almost 1,400 attended during the day.
This is just one kind of event hosted in this hall - events can range from formal degree presentations or classical music concerts to wedding breakfasts - or even to fun events like this!

Panels at the rear of Brangwyn Hall
Frank Brangwyn painted 16 panels commissioned for the House of Lords. When they were rejected for being too colourful, Swansea incorporated them into the building of the Guildhall and renamed the assembly room to the "Brangwyn Hall".
Here you can see a 17th panel just above the doorway which was painted especially to fill the gap.
The panels depict the people, flora and fauna of the empire in a bright and fantastic collage.
