Looking over the Tawe to South Dock and the new high rise, somewhat controversial development. The 'Swansea Eye' is seen to the right. Again controversial as nearby residents complain that their homes can be spied on from it!

The interior of the Seamens Church. Situated on the dockside. Now an art gallery. On 13 July 1886 my great grandfather James Quentin Battye, aged 29 married his young bride Elizabeth Williams aged just 19 and from the Gwaun Valley in Pembrokeshire. James was a sailor and Seamens Union Secretary from New York, USA.

Queen's Hotel, Swansea
On the corner of Gloucester Place and Cambrian Place. The year 1892 is inscribed in stone on the chimneystack on the left. The Queen's Hotel was a favourite haunt of Swansea's most famous son, the poet and writer Dylan Thomas (1914-1953).

The Schooner Inn, Prospect Place
Formerly a town house, listed in 1952. Then became a bar and café, but with no sign of activity as I walked by. In 2020, permission was granted to convert the building into a hostel hotel.
