This parade of shops and The Old Ship Inn are situated obliquely opposite "The Savoy" cinema. The Grade II* listed inn, currently for sale, is Elizabethan dating from the late C16th. It was restored to its near original form in 1938, when a rear wing, parallel with Westgate, was added.

Ship Inn
This historic inn has unfortunately been out of use for some time. The extended bay on the corner is 20th century, but beyond this the building is a timber framed structure dating back to the 16th century, of which a number of internal features also survive. Listed Grade II*.
