The co-op shop nearby are hoping to turn this into a new convenience store although CAMRA are opposing this.

Sunday morning football
The playing fields are always busy on Sunday. The fields were the sports area for Darfield Foulstone school which was a good half mile away. The school is now closed after the opening of a new school to service Darfield and Wombwell. The Local Authority Barnsley MBC have plans to turn the fields into executive housing.
