Old market cross
A market cross was also called a butter cross. It says it's 200 years old but I think it's a lot older.

The Butter Cross, Little Houghton
Perhaps it hasn't always stood here but it was a rallying point for farmers and other traders in times long gone. It must have watched the rise of coal mining in the area and then its cruel demise so that now you would hardly know what had happened.

Deceptive Path
Can you see the rabbit? This path leads over what was once the filthy realm of Dearne Valley Colliery - now green and tree-lined, disguising the industrial history of this place. In memory of all the brave South Yorkshire coal miners.
