Staincross for Mapplewell railway station (site), Yorkshire
Opened in 1882 as "Staincross" by the Barnsley Coal Railway, soon to be part of the Manchester Sheffield & Lincolnshire Railway, on the short line from Nostell to Stairfoot, near Barnsley. The station gained "for Mapplewell" in 1927, but closed to passengers in 1930. View north east from the A61 overbridge, into the overgrown cutting towards Nostell. No trace appears to remain.
