Public footpath, heading north from Pontefract Road, Barnsley
Difficult to imagine, but this path is the route of the Dearne and Dove Canal towpath. The actual canal was to the left, behind the fence protecting the former brewery site.

A scenic stretch of the trail which is surprisingly close to the town centre. The Wombwell to Barnsley section of the Penistone Railway Line passes to the left of the railings.
