Mining Memorial in Barnsley
Outside the NUM Headquarters once known as "King Arthur's Castle" because this was Arthur Scargill's powerbase during the miners' struggle with Thatcher's Tory government in the mid-nineteen eighties.

Yorkshire Miners' Headquarters
Purpose-built headquarters of the then South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire Miners' Union in 1874 to a design by Wade and Turner. The roof in particular shows French-influenced styling. Listed Grade II.
