The Rose and Crown Stannington
The Rose and Crown has been known as "Minnies" by the locals. During the year 1920 Mr and Mrs Irvine Lee took over the tenancy and after Mr Lee died in 1953, Mrs Minnie Lee carried on as a tenant for a number of years.

The Crown and Glove
The Crown and Glove (popularly known as The Top House) was at one time a cottage in a row of four, serving ale. It was then known as the Tontine and only from 1842 changed its name to The Crown and Glove.
