Low Bradfield Village Marker Stone
This stone, placed in August 2008, complements that outside High Bradfield. The inscription reads "The lives that were taken are not forgotten, 1864" which refers to The Great Sheffield Flood of that year. Low Bradfield was the first village in the path of the waters which roared down the Loxley Valley following the bursting of the Dale Dike Reservoir Embankment, claiming many lives. Image
