Ward at the (former) King Edward VII Orthopaedic Hospital, Rivelin Valley, Sheffield
This view shows one of the wards at the hospital ... the tall French Windows could be opened to allow the beds to pushed out into the fresh air but still be under cover. The hospital was built, as an isolation unit, on the outskirts of Sheffield where the air would not be affected by the heavy industry of the city. Image Update on 23.02.10 ... follow this link ... http://www.picturesheffield.com/ ... and search under H and Hospitals ... scroll through to see pictures of these wards as they used to be as working wards.
