Old Milestone by the B6376, High Street, Braithwell
Stone post by the B6376, in parish of Braithwell (Doncaster District), High Street, junction with Ashton Lane and Maltby Lane, opposite the Cross. Inscription reads:- TO Grade II listed. Old guidestone/milestone
In the village of Braithwell near Rotherham is this stone on High Street at the corner of Ashton Lane opposite the Cross. It may have been engraved To Rotherham 8 and To Ravenfield (along Ashton Lane). The stone may have been taller but is now set in concrete. By 2020 that has resulted to damage from vehicle strike at this narrow corner. Grade II listed 334778.

Standing cross
A scheduled monument in Braithwell village square. A plaque tells us that the cross was erected to celebrate the freedom from bondage of King Richard II in 1191.It was restored in 1953, the Coronation Year of Queen Elizabeth II. The bistro and wine bar on the far side of the square was the Red Lion pub when the cross was geographed in 2007 Image
