Cornish Place Works, Green Lane, Sheffield
One of the city's most - perhaps the most - impressive industrial buildings. On a prodigious scale and with a degree of architectural ambition, particularly the former workshops seen here, whose elevation is not unlike that of a wealthy Georgian town house. Built for James Dixon & Sons, manufacturers of Britannia metal, silver plate and cutlery, in various phases from 1822. This block dates from the 1850s. Grade II* listed. The old Wharncliffe Works building, Sheffield
Yes, words fail me. An old work that produced grates, fenders, hearths and the like I believe, in its heyday.

On Cornish Street, Neepsend
Looking to Cornish Place. Cornish Place is a listed building. It was formerly the factory of James Dixon & Sons, a Britannia metal, Sheffield plate and cutlery manufacturer. In the late 1990s the disused building was cleaned and converted into apartments. It is regarded as the most impressive cutlery works still standing in Sheffield.
