Walkley Viewpoint, Walkley Road, Lower Walkley, Sheffield
Not surprisingly, there is a great view from this viewpoint. Follow the link to see for yourself. If you ever go to Vigo on holiday, or on a Cruise Ship, they have a viewpoint which they try to persuade tourists to visit! Well, don't bother ... come to this one instead! Image

Walkley Senior School Building, Burnaby Crescent, Lower Walkley, Sheffield
This superb building was erected for the Sheffield School Board in 1874, for the senior pupils of the district. The primary school is lower down the hill on the right. It hasn't been used as a school for some years now, and, as far as I can ascertain, it is now Student accommodation for the University ... if you know differently please let me know. It was originally surrounded by terraced housing ... now mostly demolished and grassed over making it much more visible from the surrounding streets. It really is a superb building and well worth preserving. Image Image Image Image Image

House On The Corner, Walkley Road, Sheffield
This house on the corner of Walkley Road (in the foreground) and Freedom Road (running off and up the picture) used to be two shops ... Freedom Stores on the corner and Walkley Motors next to it. This accounts for the mis-matched windows.

Superb is the only word for this embellishment ... wouldn't, and probably couldn't, be replicated today! Image Image Image Image
