Winn Gardens Estate looking towards the River Don
The River Don flows left to right behind the houses at the bottom of the road. These houses were badly affected during the floods in June 2007. As at March 2008 some families have still not been able to return to their houses. The houses on the hill, in the background, are on the Birley Carr Estate. Update in 2012 ... the Flood Defence work has now been completed ... see Image

River Don Weir, from Clay Wheels Lane, Sheffield
This is a new weir which replaced the one 'washed away' in the floods of 2007. Looks nice and peaceful now ... but the residents of nearby Winn Gardens won't forget that year in a hurry. See also ... Image Image Image Image

This area was devastated in the 2007 Floods, with the all of the area between the river and including the houses in view at the bottom of the Winn Gardens estate flooded. All is now repaired and looks very tranquil and in really good order. See also ... Image Image Image
