A new footpath has been laid, running from the gate entrance on Middlewood Road North to the Wadsley Park Village estate ... I assume that the soil will be grassed over in the future. The gate entrance is just visible under the lamp post ... now fitted with a security infill to stop Motorbikes getting through. Image Image

Asylum Cottages, Middlewood Road North, Middlewood, Sheffield
These cottages were built for use by the staff of the nearby South Yorkshire Asylum ... later known as Middlewood Hospital. The Asylum is long gone, with a large housing estate replacing it, but the cottages remain and look good enough to be around for a long time yet!
