John Carr Fletcher
A stone marked 'John Carr Fletcher AD 1897.' This is located on the side of a farm building on the outskirts of Sheffield. It could have been installed when the building was originally built or could be a later addition. The re-pointing makes it difficult to tell.
The 'JCF' initials at top of the stone imply a gravestone.'Satis pabuli multum lac faciet' (Latin) is something to the effect of 'there's sufficient fodder to make milk.' As this is/was a dairy area, the implication is that John was a successful dairy farmer.

No Parking Peas, Underhill Lane, near Birley Edge, Sheffield
... and No, it isn't a spelling mistake in the title! This large car park was next to (the now defunct) Batchelors Factory ... and they were famous for, amongst other things, canning Peas! The factory has been closed for many years and the car park closed off for use. Image Image

When this car park was in full use there must have grid lock on the surrounding narrow roads ... so using a Motorcycle was probably a good idea ... and there was special parking near to the entrance. Image Image
