The River Rother
The River Rother between Catcliffe Flash on the right bank and Catcliffe on the left bank. The River Rother has flooded the nearby houses on Orgreave Road on a number of occasions.

In the distance across what was an Orgreave opencast mine are new buildings on the Advanced Manufacturing Park.25 years (1984) ago Orgreave was the site of major confrontations with striking coal miners and the police.

An open stretch of water formed as a result of subsidence and surrounded by a well-developed area of marshland and willow-carr, covering an area of 12ha. Beyond the carr grassland stretches to the river.
The LNR is immediately west of Treeton Lane , Catcliffe, which has a layby.
