Rainbow over the Catcliffe Glass Cone
The cone dates from 1740 and is the oldest surviving structure of its type in Western Europe, and it is a Grade I listed building and Scheduled Ancient Monument. The rainbow was more transitory, lasting for only a few minutes.

Catcliffe Glass Cone
There were originally two glass cone furnaces built in 1740 by William Finney, this is the only survivor. The 70ft high brick cone furnace worked until the early 20th century, it served as a prison during the First World War and as a canteen during the 1926 General Strike http://www.treetonweb.co.uk/parish/catcliffeglass.htm

Dating back to 1740 and in use until about 1900. See; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catcliffe_Glass_Cone A Grade I listed building, although most of the old glass works has been demolished. Travellers entering Sheffield from the M1 via the Parkway pass this on their left hand side shortly after leaving the motorway.

Catcliffe Glass Kiln
A Grade I listed building and scheduled ancient monument situated in the middle of an area of pensioners' bungalows. It was built in 1740 and was used to make glass until the 1880s. It is one of only three (according to English Heritage) still standing in Great Britain.
