Preserved gateway to the former Firth & Sons Siemens Melting Shop
The Siemens open hearth method of smelting steel was used in Sheffield from 1879 right through to the nineteen sixties. This gateway, built in 1918, used to be the entrance to Thomas Firth's famous Norfolk Steelworks. It was re-erected here in 1993.

Spider on the side of the "Gripple" works in Sheffield
Wire salesman Hugh Facey invented the original "Gripple" wire tensioner and joiner after a conversation in 1986 with a Welsh farmer. The first Gripple wire joiner was launched in the UK in 1988, and Gripple Ltd was established in 1991.

Fred Mulley Road
Frederick William Mulley became Member of Parliament for Sheffield Park in 1950, a position he held until retiring at the 1983 General Election. During his long career in politics he held many ministerial positions including Minister of Aviation (1965–67), Minister for Disarmament (1967–69), and Minister of Transport (1969–70, 1974–75).
