Sheep in field with lynched heron
A plastic heron is tied up with a piece of twine round its neck. Is this a deterrent, like the moles or crows (dead) which some farmers like to display?
There is an overgrown pond on the left of the picture, (just out of frame) which may have had the unwanted attentions of a predatory heron. But that's what herons do, isn't it? They survive by eating fish.
