Public house by the A617
The Plug and Feathers is actually outdone in the Glapwell pub naming stakes by the Young Vanish further along. This is by the turn for Stockley Lane, the start of the Stockley Trail towards the Doe Lea valley and Bolsover.

The Plug and Feathers in Glapwell
Food-orientated Public House situated alongside the A617 Road on The Hill, Glapwell. The Plug and Feathers refers to a traditional implement used to split stone and the pub itself is handily placed for anyone using the Stockley Trail which starts (or terminates) right here.

The main A617 road between Mansfield and Chesterfield here descends from the plateau to the Doe Lea valley. The main road is lined with houses connecting the former mining villages of Glapwell and Bramley Vale.
