Staveley - Miners Welfare
On Market Street. Originally, this was Markham Hall. It was built in 1893 as an indoor market hall by Charles Paxton Markham, in memory of his father Charles. Both men, in turn, ran The Staveley Coal & Iron Company. See http://staveleytowncouncil.gov.uk/documents/other_docs/staveley_town_centre_trail_leaflet.pdf for more details.
