Hunloke Arms, Derby Road
This is the Hunloke Arms public house on Derby Road. The Avenue coking works was once sited behind this public house. The inn was once called the Nags Head, and John Turner, who had a store in Chesterfield (now a Pizza Hut), was born here.

Wingerworth - Avenue Coking Plant
The smokeless fuel Sunbrite was made here. The coking plant is now demolished and, as at January 2009, the de-contamination of the site is continuing.
