Chesterfield Midland: Up freight with 8F 2-8-0, 1951
View northward from the Down platform - in the pouring rain, towards Sheffield, Rotherham and the North: ex-Midland main line. One of a constant flow of trains through Chesterfield, this Class J empties, running on the Fast lines, is headed by Stanier 8F 2-8-0 No. 48265, which was built in 1942 for the War Department as No. WD 70550 and lasted until 5/67.
