Stall, like many in the town's Market Square, selling second-hand items ranging in quality from antiques to bric-a-brac to junk. These crates of old toys probably tended towards the latter end of that scale.

The Town Pump, Market Place, Chesterfield
Grade II* Listed pump from 1826 but the plinth may be earlier. John Wesley spoke from "the town pump" in 1777. Chesterfield began well dressing in 1864 when the Town Pump was decorated after a very dry summer.

Chesterfield Market Place and Market Hall
Chesterfield received its market charter in 1204 and claims its market to be "one of the biggest open-air markets in the country" http://www.visitchesterfield.info/thedms.aspx?dms=3&venue=6050253 . The Victorian Market Hall was originally built in 1857 'for the shelter and safeguard of market people'. It is a Grade II listed building (English Heritage Building ID: 83409 http://www.britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-83409-the-market-hall-derbyshire British Listed Buildings) The hall has recently undergone a multi-million pound refit and reopened at the end of October 2013.
